1. In Time (2011)

The genius premise:
In a future where all humans stop aging at 25 years old, time is the only commodity. The poor die young, while the rich can live forever. When a young man with nothing is unexpectedly gifted over 100 years, he finds himself wanted for a murder he didn’t commit. On the run and trying to clear his name, he has no choice but to dismantle the entire system.
Did it fulfil its potential?
No, but it makes a good attempt. In Time has one of the freshest sci-fi premises of all time, but it bungles it just enough to waste its potential. It’s far from a bad film, but it’s nowhere near as good as it could have been. It might be one of the most genius movie premises of all time, but it sadly can’t quite fulfil its potential.
