3. Drax Summoning Ronan – Guardians Of The Galaxy

Dave Bautista as Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy

Guardians of the Galaxy sees the eponymous team gather in opposition to Ronan the Accuser, a pawn of Thanos, after a caper involving one of the Infinity Stones goes awry. While each character has their own motives, Drax the Destroyer hates Ronan more than any of them, and for good reason. Ronan was responsible for the death of Drax’s wife and daughter, so his utter hatred for the villain makes perfect sense.

What doesn’t make sense, though, is getting drunk and taking on the villain’s fleet of starships single-handed and armed with only two knives. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what Drax does, fuelled entirely by revenge. Well, that and maybe just a little arrogance. And a lot of alcohol.

Knowing that Ronan is a powerful warlord who works for the even more powerful Thanos, Drax still believes himself capable of taking him on alone. That’s stupid and incredibly reckless, but it also endangers the other Guardians and the population of Knowhere. Ronan’s attack on the city would almost certainly cause multiple deaths that could have been avoided if only Drax hadn’t been so incredibly dumb.
