2. Monty Python And The Holy Grail (1975)

Rotten Tomatoes: 96%
Monty Python are remembered as the masters of sketch comedy, but they also delivered one or two great spoof movies in their day. Monty Python and the Holy Grail is just that: a parody of medieval legends and adventure movies in general. With a number of familiar Monty Python faces cast in roles of Arthurian legend, the film takes a biting look at the traditional story it attempts to tell.
In terms of comedy, Monty Python and the Holy Grail has it all. There are whimsical characters spouting nonsense and appropriately ridiculous action scenes. There are references to the original medieval legends and a final act hilariously steeped in all-out chaos.
Basically, everything Monty Python has become known for is present. The film also makes most adventure movies look vaguely ridiculous through its satirical lens, making it one of the best spoof movies ever made. There’s also one of the best instances of foreshadowing ever committed to film, which is an unexpected but welcome addition.
