4. Spider-Man

Few heroes get a rougher deal than Spider-Man. The hero’s story has been told multiple times in film, often with variations on his specific origins. However, one thing remains constant: Spider-Man is always a tragic hero.
Practically every Spider-Man movie sees the hero lose someone he loves. Uncle Ben, Gwen Stacy, Aunt May – all have met brutal and heart-wrenching deaths in Spider-Man movies. It always serves to test the hero’s resolve and push him to fight harder against crime and injustice, but it’s always undeniably tragic.
The MCU version of the character has an even rougher deal: shortly after the death of his mentor, he loses Aunt May, his guardian and sole family member. Then, he’s forced to have himself removed from the memories of those he loves just to protect them, forcing him to live his life truly alone. And we thought the standard Uncle Ben backstory was tragic…
