4. Star Wars – Jar Jar Binks Is A Sith Lord
This is perhaps one of the best-known theories on the list, partly because it’s so ridiculous and partly because it’s strangely plausible. The long-standing Star Wars theory goes that Jar Jar Binks – y’know, that bumbling, vaguely irritating Gungan – was actually a Sith all along.
The more you look into the theory, the more plausible it becomes. Throughout the prequel trilogy, Jar Jar acts against the Jedi (and the Republic) in a number of ways, and while it mostly seems like George Lucas’ idea of comedy, it’s hardly a stretch to think it could have been malice on the Gungan’s part.
Despite his role as a relatively minor character, he influences the plot in major ways, and it’s more than a little possible that he was actually a Sith all along. In fact, this theory is so popular among Star Wars fans, that for a long time they were convinced that Jar Jar would actually be revealed as the mastermind behind Snoke in the sequel trilogy.
There’s a wealth of “evidence” out there that supposedly supports the “Darth Jar Jar” theory, and while much of it relies on liberal interpretations of small moments in the prequel trilogy, there’s a core of logic to the theory. That logic is why this theory has persisted for so long, and why it remains to this day one of the most popular Star Wars fan theories.
