5. Killer Condom (1996)

With a name like Killer Condom, this entry really should write itself, but here we are. It’s worth noting that of all the films on this list, Killer Condom is by far the least well-known, mostly by merit of the fact that its existence is hardly more than a slightly childish joke. However, it does exist and it is technically a horror movie, so it counts. (It’s also pretty hilarious.)
A German horror-comedy about a gay detective in New York, Killer Condom concerns a literal killer condom responsible for biting off men’s penises. When investigating (or, more accurately, preparing to have sex with a gigolo he meets while investigating), Detective Luigi Mackeroni has his right testicle bitten off by the condom. This sparks a personal vendetta that pits man against… well, condom.
Trying to make any real sense of Killer Condom is practically impossible, and honestly, who would even want to? It was conceived to be as ridiculous as possible, and it achieves just that. Still, just like Jaws made it difficult to get back in the water, Killer Condom is almost enough to make its audience think twice about safe sex. That means that it’s not only ridiculous, but it’s weirdly socially irresponsible, too. Shame on you, Killer Condom.
