7. Blank Check (1994)

The dumb premise: A eleven-year-old boy is mistakenly given a blank check by a criminal. After making it out for $1 million, the boy enjoys his unexpected windfall, only to find himself pursued by the criminal and the bank he cashed it with. He also somehow starts a relationship with an adult woman, for some reason.
Shocking though it may seem, Blank Check is actually a Disney movie. It’s classic ’90s fare, and the wackiness of its premise probably speaks to the relatively low standards of the decade. However, it relies on the idea that a bank would let an unattended child cash a check for $1 million, which is more than a little ridiculous.
Did it work? No, it really didn’t. As Blank Check‘s 9% score on Rotten Tomatoes should indicate, it’s not a good movie. It doesn’t even try to move past its stupid premise, and just runs blindly with it. That’s probably how it ended up with a weird and super creepy inter-generational kiss.
