3. Chris D’Amico – Kick-Ass 2
The first Kick-Ass is a brilliant riff on superhero movies, but the sequel just couldn’t match its quality. However, it did continue the story of Dave Lizewski (A.K.A. Kick-Ass), Mindy Macready (A.K.A. Hit-Girl), and Chris D’Amico. Chris’s father was a mobster who served as the first film’s antagonist, and the young man swears revenge for the sequel.
In and of itself, Chris’s oath of revenge is fairly understandable. However, his methods are more than a little… unorthodox. The newly orphaned man finds his mother’s stash of fetish gear, then takes to the streets as a leather-clad villain baying for blood.
Grieving though he may be, violence really isn’t the answer. Especially when the man you’re trying to avenge was himself a violent criminal. And when your whole plan involves killing, hurting, and disturbing as many people as possible. Basically, Chris D’Amico’s whole plan is really, really weird, and he just escalates everything way beyond where it should have ended.
