2. Thanos – Avengers: Infinity War

Superhero movies often make use of slightly wonky logic, but then their worlds are generally askew with all the magic, pseudo-science, and badassery flying around. After over a decade of build-up, the MCU’s first main story arc began to reach a conclusion in Avengers: Infinity War. The all-powerful Infinity Stones had been bouncing all over the place, but one very large purple man was finally ready to harness their might.
Basically, Thanos’ whole deal is taking things too far. His gradual MCU introduction essentially just reveals that he’s intent on conquering and destroying half of all life in the universe, although the movies keep his exact motivations relatively vague. It’s something about limited resources, apparently.
Anyway, the only solution Thanos can see to a crisis of resources is to snuff out trillions of lives. After killing his own adopted daughter and dispatching numerous heroes with his bare hands, he gathers the Stones, then snaps his fingers and commits cosmic genocide. Then, because he’s really just that evil, he retires in peace. In other words, he’s about as over-the-top as villains come.
