10 Famous Actors You Forgot Made Christmas Movies

Famous Actors You Forgot Made Christmas Movies - Nicloas Cage in Gone in 60 Seconds and Michael Keaton in Spider-Man: Homecoming

Hollywood is full of stars, so there are innumerable famous actors known to the world. With so many genres of movie existing in the entertainment industry, these actors often have their pick of the bunch. As Christmas movies are often looked down upon by film snobs, some performers seemingly steer clear of making cheery and saccharine holiday fare. However, there are many famous actors you forgot made Christmas movies (or maybe you never knew in the first place).

Maybe it’s because we only watch Christmas movies once a year. Maybe it’s because many of them explore very similar and simplistic ideas. Whatever the reason, Christmas movies are often more forgettable than films in other genres, allowing even big-name actors to slip by in holiday-based roles. For that reason, we’ve compiled a list of 10 famous actors you forgot made Christmas movies.

10. Molly Ringwald – Wishin’ and Hopin’ (2014)

Molly Ringwald may no longer be the star she once was, but she used to be quite the celebrity. Her credits in the ’80s comprise multiple teen classics, including The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink. Though her star has faded somewhat, Ringwald is still famous thanks to the iconic roles in her past.

Though Molly Ringwald appearing in a lesser-known Christmas movie may not be overly shocking, that only makes it more forgettable. In 2014, Ringwald starred in Wishin’ and Hopin‘ (yes, with apostrophes), a story about a supply teacher who enters a classroom and changes some lives. There’s also a Christmas pageant of some description, just to make it festive.

Between Ringwald’s career decline and the shortcomings of Wishin’ and Hopin‘ (including its title), it’s fair to say that not everyone knew about her role in the film. Though the world hardly needed another inspirational movie about a teacher – let alone a Christmas one – there it is. Everyone may have forgotten Molly Ringwald’s role in Wishin’ and Hopin‘, but it still happened (honestly, we swear).
