1. Yogi Bear (2010)

Tagline: “All great things come in Bears.”
Explaining why this tagline is awful is actually much harder than it seems. Let’s first address the obvious: Yogi Bear really didn’t need a live-action/CGI hybrid movie in 2010. It definitely didn’t need Dan Akyroyd to reinvent the character with Justin Timberlake as his sidekick.
Even before it directly attacked the childhood of a generation, Yogi Bear managed to make thing super weird with its tagline. “All great things come in Bears” is an odd choice, not least because of its horrific implications. Putting aside that good things definitely do not come in bears, let’s look a little closer.
Trying to work out what exactly this tagline implies just gets darker the more you think about it. We’re going to skim over the grossest (because you probably already got there on your own, in or outside of a bear), and look at it literally. This particular tagline asserts that ALL good things come in bears, and that nothing good ever occurs when a bear isn’t directly involved. That’s just simply not true, and it’s a poor way to sell a poor movie. For shame, Yogi Bear. For shame.
