2. Suspiria (1977)

Tagline: “The Only Thing More Terrifying Than The Last 12 Minutes Of This Film Are The First 92.”
Dario Argento might be considered the master of horror, but he certainly wasn’t the master of taglines. 1977’s Suspiria boasted a number of taglines, many of which were variations on a theme. The film was marketed with several taglines that made specific mentions of various numbers of minutes and how scary certain portions of the film are.
The reasons we’ve chosen “The Only Thing More Terrifying Than The Last 12 Minutes Of This Film Are The First 92” as the worst of all are twofold. First, it implies that the ending is less scary than the entire rest of the film, which is an oddly specific assertion to make (seriously, who measures these things?). Secondly – and most importantly – the numbers don’t add up.
The film is supposedly 99 minutes long. Whether you’re adding the 12 to the 92 or considering the 92 the entire thing, it still doesn’t make sense. When you also consider that multiple variations of this tagline were used, it just becomes even worse. It’s definitely one of the worst movie taglines imaginable.
