3. Saving Christmas (2014)

It’s not exactly a secret that some people dislike the commercialism of Christmas. After all, it’s primarily a Christian holiday that has been beefed up with pagan imagery and manipulated into being a massive boost to the global economy. Even so, turning a sense of religious cynicism into an actual movie seems incredibly misguided.
2014’s Saving Christmas does just that, though. The film stars Kirk Cameron as himself, who opens the film by ranting at the camera about the bastardization of the holiday. He then sets out to save the season by renewing others’ faith in Jesus or something. (Being honest, we didn’t watch it.)
If you can’t see why that’s a really weird idea for a movie, then you’re part of the problem. Religious beliefs aside, trashing a time of year that most people love simply to aggressively push a message makes Saving Christmas little more than religious propaganda. Sorry, Kirk Cameron, but we’re sticking with our commercial Christmas.
