10. Knock At The Cabin

Dave Bautista in Knock at the Cabin

Scheduled release date: 3 February 2023

From the master of movie plot twists himself, M. Night Shyamalan, 2023 is set to deliver an apocalyptic psychological horror movie that has the potential to put the director back on top. Knock at the Cabin is set to star Dave Bautista, Jonathan Groff, Ben Aldridge, Nikki Amuka-Bird, and Rupert Grint, and tells the story of a family held hostage by four strangers demanding sacrifice in order to avert the apocalypse. With an intriguing premise and a solid cast, Knock at the Cabin is one of Shyamalan’s most exciting prospects in years.

Of course, with Shyamalan’s movies, there’s always the potential for it to be an utter car crash. For every Sixth Sense, there’s a Last Airbender, after all. Still, with so much promise, it’s only fair to give Shyamalan the benefit of the doubt. Again.

9. Asteroid City

Wes Anderson

Scheduled release date: 16 June 2023

From the consistently brilliant mind of Wes Anderson, Asteroid City will tell the story of a Junior Stargazer convention held in a fictional American town in the mid-1950s. Being that it’s a Wes Anderson film, you can expect all the usual Wes Andersonisms: a huge impressive ensemble cast, countless quirky characters, and a decidedly twee aesthetic that will undoubtedly capture a slice of nostalgic Americana.
