After the brilliance of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, we’d be remiss not to mention that Dune: Part Two is scheduled to release later this year. Picking up where Dune left off, it will continue the story of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) on Arrakis, and will see Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, and countless others reprise their roles. Expect more visual and auditory splendor in another sci-fi epic for the ages. What’s not to be excited about?
7. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves
Scheduled release date: 31 March 2023
Combining the beloved Dungeons & Dragons with an all-star cast seems like a recipe for success. However, with Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley directing from a script they co-wrote with Michael Gilio, Honor Among Thieves seems all the more promising. The trailer indicates a gently comedic approach to the fantasy source material, which should help keep things grounded for those less familiar with the game itself.
With Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Hugh Grant all set to star, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves may be one of the most exciting fantasy films in a long while.
