6. The Tooth Fairy (2010)

Tagline: “You can’t handle the tooth”
It’s hardly a secret that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson acted in more than a few underwhelming family movies early in his acting career. He was still in that transitional stage between wrestling and Hollywood, so it’s understandable. Even so, The Tooth Fairy still stands out as one of the most misguided.
Sold using the tagline “You can’t handle the tooth”, The Tooth Fairy follows Johnson’s winged tooth collector. The tagline clearly references A Few Good Men‘s “you can’t handle the truth”. It’s an odd movie to reference while trying to sell a children’s film.
Aside from the fact that the film’s young audience wouldn’t even remotely understand the joke, it’s still a poor tagline. It makes it clear that The Tooth Fairy‘s idea of humor is misguided and unintelligible, with the film making about as much sense as the marketing slogan. It’s one of the most awful movie taglines out there simply because it doesn’t even try to sell the film.
