4. Shaun – Shaun Of The Dead (2004)

Shaun of the Dead sort of has it all. It’s an all-time great horror movie with a liberal dose of comedy and satire, and brought the collaboration of Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost to the big screen for the first time. It also has a zombie apocalypse, which is where Shaun’s luck comes in.
Shaun is essentially an average underachiever. He takes no real notice of the world around him, and doesn’t initially realize that the world has been overrun with zombies. Even after he does, though, his plans are both naive and incredibly simplistic. Predictably, his friends and family soon start dying at the hands of the undead horde.
Miraculously, Shaun manages to survive. His parents and his best friend all turn into shuffling corpses, but he escapes unscathed. This is largely due to the army arriving to fight back the hundreds of zombies surrounding his makeshift hideout, which is massively lucky in itself. Basically, Shaun just kind of half-heartedly improvises a plan to survive the apocalypse, and it actually works. Doesn’t really get much luckier than that.
