1. Kingsman: The Secret Service – The Church Rampage
The scene:
Kingsman spy Galahad is investigating the questionable enterprises of the billionaire Richmond Valentine, and heads to a church. Valentine activates his violence-inducing technology, and the occupants of the church enter a killing frenzy. Galahad fights off a crowd of vicious attackers with lethal force, fully displaying the combat expertise of a Kingsman agent.
The song: “Free Bird” by Lynyrd Skynyrd
What makes this the best of all needle drop movie moments is relatively simple. The wild guitar lick of “Free Bird” kicks in just as the action ramps up to the extreme, with the intense violence complemented by the fast-paced energy of the song. It’s a world-class action sequence and it’s set to one of the most intense guitar solos ever, making for a truly unforgettable needle drop moment.
