Now, Theatre of Blood may not be the most well-known horror movie out there, but it does star one of the genre’s most iconic actors. Vincent Price stars as Edward Lionheart, an actor who fakes his death after a bad review and then returns to exact bloody revenge on the critics who wronged him. He may be a murderer, but he’s an incredibly charismatic one.
Lionheart benefits from the natural charisma of Vincent Price, but he’s also a pretty fun guy. He’s got a sense of humor and a strong dramatic flair. He takes the arts more seriously than anyone else, and takes pride in doing his work as well as humanly possible. He’s also incredibly committed, spending a great amount of time and energy to make sure his revenge is perfect.
It’s hard to blame Edward Lionheart for wanting to exact poetic justice on a few overly pompous critics. He’s a passionate creative, and he’s also a champion of the downtrodden, leading an army of homeless people on his crusade against exclusivity. All in all, he’s a pretty cool dude, and one of the most likable horror movie villains of all time.
