2. Frankenstein’s Monster

What exactly is a monster? Anyone could argue that any of the villains on this list are monsters – especially those who appear to be normal men – because they’re all killers. However, Frankenstein’s Monster is by far the most sympathetic villain on this list, because he had no choice in the way he was made or the things he came to do.
Created to be monstrously strong and thoroughly unnatural, Frankenstein’s Monster is a pretty frightening figure. He’s huge, he’s inhuman, and he’s largely blameless for his actions. Ultimately, this is what makes him such a likable character, because he’s not evil, he’s just confused and curious.
Frankenstein’s Monster is every bit as scared as he is dangerous, and it’s impossible not to feel at least a little sorry for him. He’s likable because he’s a sympathetic character, and he didn’t choose to be a monster. We certainly wouldn’t ask him to babysit, but he seems like a pretty likable guy.
