Worst video game movies: Postal (2008)

No conversation about the worst video game movies ever made would be complete without a mention of Uwe Boll. The German director is famed for his terrible video game adaptations, and 2008’s Postal is just one such example. With an (un)impressive 9% on Rotten Tomatoes, Postal is by far one of the worst video game movies out there.

The Postal games are known for their over-the-top violence and irreverent humor. As a result, the franchise is no stranger to controversy, facing criticism from various angles due to its off-color brand of ultraviolent gameplay. No surprise, then, that it didn’t make for a very good movie.

Uwe Boll’s Postal loosely follows the plot of the game Postal 2, and was thoroughly derided by critics. The film’s offensive story was thinly masked by liberal use of the term “satire”, and its generally unfunny humor was found off-putting by most. There’s not much else to say about the Postal movie, other than it’s really, really bad.
