1. Stephen Amell – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows (2016)

Many of the entries on this list have chronicled TV actors whose movie roles go forgotten due to their prominence in a specific television role. Well, the number 1 spot is no different, except for the fact that it’s the perfect example of the phenomenon. At the very pinnacle of TV typecasting not translating to the big screen, it’s Stephen Amell.
In 2012, Amell rose to prominence with his starring role on Arrow, playing the vigilante Oliver Queen/Green Arrow. The show was so successful that Amell reprised the role for eight seasons, as well as appearing in other shows across the interconnected narratives of the Arrowverse. Yes, it was so successful that it got its own shared TV universe.
Not content with playing just one vigilante at a time, Amell was cast as Casey Jones in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel while starring in Arrow. He appeared as the prominent TMNT character in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, featuring heavily in the major blockbuster from renowned explosion enthusiast Michael Bay. The film was a box office and critical disappointment, and Amell went largely unnoticed in it. Though Arrow has since finished its run, Amell is only remembered as one vigilante, and it’s not Casey Jones.
