4. Nina Dobrev – xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage (2017)
From one horror-lite TV star to another, Nina Dobrev is another TV actor with a forgettable movie role under her belt. Known for her starring role as Elena Gilbert on The Vampire Diaries, Dobrev established an impressive TV career for herself. She is also known for roles in Degrassi: The Next Generation and a brief appearance in Vampire Diaries spin-off The Originals.
Dobrev has made a handful of film appearances, including in The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Let’s Be Cops. However, arguably her biggest film credit came in 2017’s xXx: The Return of Xander Cage. The much-anticipated action sequel to xXx featured the return of Vin Diesel’s protagonist, with Dobrev appearing in a supporting role.
Predictably (as she’s on this list), she didn’t really stand out. Despite being a big deal among TV actors, that charisma didn’t carry over to one of her biggest movie roles (to date, at least). To be fair, anyone who appears alongside Vin Diesel usually gets sucked into the background; the man is a thoroughly ridiculous black hole for our attention. Also, it probably didn’t help that the film wasn’t great, either.
