5. Jared Padalecki – Friday The 13th (2009)
It probably goes without saying that Jared Padalecki is best known as Supernatural‘s Sam Winchester. Having starred on the show for its entire 15-season run, Padalecki’s career so far has largely been dominated by his TV work. Since Supernatural ended, he’s kept up his presence on the small screen with the titular role in Walker, a reboot of Walker, Texas Ranger.
Padalecki featured in minor and supporting roles in several movies prior to his big Supernatural break, including House of Wax and Cheaper by the Dozen (alongside his friend Tom Welling). However, at the height of his Supernatural fame, Padalecki starred in major horror reboot Friday the 13th. Had you forgotten? Yeah, we had, too.
Though Padalecki’s acting was far from the issue, Friday the 13th failed to impress critics. Believing it added nothing new to the franchise, it was largely dismissed, and rights issues prevented any follow-ups. Padalecki went back to starring on Supernatural, and hasn’t really dabbled in film again since.
