7. Spider-Woman
Considering Spider-Man is one of the most beloved superheroes in the world, his female counterpart is all too often overlooked. Spider-Woman is much more than just a female riff on a popular hero: she’s a thoroughly fascinating character with a rich vein of stories to explore. This makes her yet another comic book hero who warrants their own movie.
Jessica Drew becomes Spider-Woman through a spider-bite followed by an experimental treatment. Her power-set is similar to Spider-Man’s, with a handful of impressive additions. She can manipulate her pheromones, she has an increased regenerative factor, and longer lifespan. In other words, she’s pretty powerful.
With a Spider-Woman movie reportedly in the works at the time of writing, it might not be too long before she gets her big-screen debut. It can’t come soon enough, either: Spider-Woman is an excellent character with heaps on cinematic potential. Considering Spider-Man’s own cinematic tenure, it’s about time his female cohort got her time in the spotlight.
