4. Iron Fist

Iron Fist may be best known to many for his divisive stint in his own Netflix Marvel show, but he’s never appeared in his own movie. Although the live-action incarnation did some justice to the character, there were many ways that long-time fans felt let down by the adaptation. As such, he’s another of those comic book heroes who deserve their own movie (in his case, as a form of redemption as much as anything else).
Iron Fist is the alter-ego of Danny Rand, a practitioner of martial arts who possesses the power of the Iron Fist. This allows him to summon and focus his chi, and is bestowed upon him by the mystical powers of K’un-Lun. The specifics are a little convoluted, but rest assured, Iron Fist’s cinematic potential is massive.
Iron Fist’s story combines the appeal of Marvel’s street-level heroes with old school martial arts movies. Though the risk of blatantly portraying cultural appropriation would need to be delicately weighed, Iron Fist still deserves a solo movie in the MCU. Giving the character a platform would be an exceptional addition to (and expansion of) the MCU’s horizons – not to mention, he’s really cool.
