6. Nova
Technically, the MCU teased Nova’s existence way back in Phase 2. Though Guardians of the Galaxy confirmed the existence of the Nova Corps (and, by extension, the hero himself), Nova has yet to make an appearance in the franchise. It’s a travesty, too, because he’s one of Marvel’s greatest heroes.
Nova is the moniker of Richard Rider, a member of the intergalactic police force known as the Nova Corps. As such, he has access to the Nova Force, which grants him superhuman abilities such as flight, enhanced strength, a regenerative healing factor, and the ability to manipulate gravitational forces to create wormholes. Basically, he’s pretty powerful.
If the above hasn’t already made it clear just why Nova needs his own solo movie, let’s break it down. The sci-fi potential of Nova’s story combined with his power level would make him one of the MCU’s most important and interesting heroes, because he comes with a rich backstory that potentially connects him to various elements of the Marvel Universe. He’s perhaps the biggest Marvel hero yet to debut on the big screen, and hopefully he’ll get his chance soon.
